About MCPAI

Who We Are

Located in the beautiful Fraser Coast region of Queensland, the Maryborough City Progress Association Inc (MCPAI) is a positive, solution focussed group of Maryborough residents and business owners, looking to enhance the beautiful township of Maryborough both now and into the future.

MCPAI (or as we like to pronounce it – "McPie") is a registered, incorporated, not-for-profit organisation acting in the best interests of the Maryborough Community. We are a community voice with local, state and federal government and we’re committed to the improvement of local infrastructure, facilities and community life for the residents and business owners of the Maryborough district.

What We Do

Our mission at the Maryborough City Progress Association is to promote interest, responsibility and civic pride to the people of the Maryborough and Fraser Coast region and to encourage and assist public development of such in the district.

We do this by actively promoting the improvement and innovation of the Maryborough region through community projects and developments, yet still identifying with Maryborough’s well regarded heritage and history.

In addition, MCPAI hold a number of community and business events, with a focus on strengthening our community and supporting our local businesses and industries.

MCPAI have built a community respect for our involvement in developing and continuing local events such as street parties, youth programs, business showcase, annual Christmas Carols and fundraising activities.

Whilst completely independent, we work closely with the Fraser Coast Regional Council, our local Divisional Councillors, State Member and Federal Member to ensure key projects are brought to life in the region and have the full support of government at the different levels.

Why We Do It

Our organisation members volunteer their time for the love and pride of Maryborough. We all want to see Maryborough flourish economically and we want our residents to have access to facilities and services that are of true benefit for the community as a whole. We believe progress is necessary to ensure our community is supported now and into the future and is not disadvantaged from being a regional centre.

We seek to support the region to reach its full potential by promoting and encouraging the economic development of the Fraser Coast through tourism, industry encouragement, business enhancement and community development.

Our Meetings

The Maryborough City Progress Association meet bi-monthly at the QCWA Maryborough Hall, 122 - 124 Wharf Street, Maryborough, Qld 4650.
